Jacqui

Jacqui Devereau…

I qualified in Beauty Therapy after 3 years training at Bradford College in 1990 and now have 26 years experience. I then worked at a busy salon in Saltaire village and eventually established my own Beauty Therapy Business.

My qualifications are extensive and to understand the human body in greater detail I embarked on a degree course in Biomedical Sciences where I attained a First Class Honours Degree specialising in Cellular Pathology and have successfully completed my Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Molecular Vascular Medicine at Leeds University.

Quintessence was established in 2004 and since then I have undertaken further specialist training in all areas of massage (including THStone Therapy, Lomi Lomi and No Hands), reflexology, IPL permanent hair removal, Microdermabrasion, Hollywood Lashes, Hollywood Toes, Skin Peels, Organics, Hopi Ear Candles, Spray Tanning and am a Third Degree Usui Reiki Master. I have also completed my Advanced Aromatherapy and have been invited to be an advisor on the board of Beauty Therapists at Bradford College. I’ve also contributed to a beauty therapy book NQV level 2.
More recently I have completed 1-2-1 training with CND for skill building, gel conversion, BRISA, shellac, gel master, and Master Painter.
I’m also a qualified HDBrow stylists working towards my HDBrows Pro certification.

I truly believe that the only way to provide and maintain an excellent service to all my clients is to be constantly updating, reviewing and improving all aspects of Beauty and Holistic Therapy. It is essential that Quintessence is kept up to date with all the latest developments by attending exhibitions, shows, workshops and training courses.

All the therapists at Quintessence are constantly evolving and improving the range and standard of treatments we offer and are currently undergoing further training and attending new courses.

Kirstie

Kirstie Eccles…

I studied at the University of Bradford where I attained a First Class Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences, specialising in Biochemistry,  and went on to complete a PhD in Vascular Research.

I then worked within the Vascular Research Unit of the University as a Post-Doctoral Research fellow investigating the effects of the Statin drugs on the vascular system. During this period I completed my Third Degree Reiki Master qualification.

I followed this with a period of research at St James Hospital in Leeds, working for the University of Leeds, as part of the Transplant Immunology Group.

Whilst at Leeds I also started to study Acupuncture at BodyHarmonics Training Centre in Cheltenham and Gloucester and gained my Acupuncture Diploma in 2008 which included Acupuncture, Fire Cupping and Moxibustion.

Since then I have acquired a Level 4 VTCT qualification in sports massage.

I work full time as an Acupuncture and sports Therapist offering clients Acupuncture, Sports Massage, Cupping, Moxibustion, Hopi Ear Candles and Reiki.

I am currently working towards becoming an herbalist and should complete these studies later this year.

Debbie

Debbie Fennelly…

Having retrained approximately three years ago, I began my career at Quintessence focusing on the many aspects of massage therapy.

My initial qualification was Swedish Full Body Massage followed quickly by deep tissue and the more specialised Sports massage.

I soon expanded my skills to include Hot Stone and Bamboo therapies, seated massage and have recently added both Pregnancy and Thai foot & leg massage to my repertoire.

Due to popular demand last year I also gained qualifications in manicure, pedicure, shellac, rock star nails and facial treatments. I thoroughly enjoyed these new challenges.

Later this year I am undertaking further training in Indian Head massage and Kinesiology (sports) taping.

Joining Quintessence has been a refreshing and enlivening experience, one which I hope to pass onto all my clients.

Tamar

Tamar Neen…

My very first job working at The Body Shop ignited my passion for the beauty industry and drove me to seek further education at Bradford College where I attained first my NVQ Level 3 followed by a Foundation Degree in Beauty Therapy.

I have been with the Quintessence team since 2008 and during that time have continued updating my treatment repertoire to include Shellac, IBX, nail art and nail stamping, Hollywood lashes, I-appeal, Crybaby lashes, Non-surgical Face Lifts (CACI), Microdermabrasion and No-Needle Mesotherapy facials.
My most recent training was advanced intimate waxing techniques using the Outback Organics hot wax system. My specialist areas of expertise are Advanced Electrolysis and Advanced Skin Tag and Thread Vein removal.

I am looking forward to training with HD Brows later this year. I love working as a beauty therapist at Quintessence and look forward to seeing you soon.

Emma

Emma James…

Hi I’m Emma JB, and am the oldest and newest member of staff at Quintessence.

I worked with Jacqui when she first opened the salon back in 2006, and after 3 years, left to move to Manchester.

I returned to Bradford and the salon last November, and it’s fantastic to be back!

I have been BTEC Beauty Therapy qualified for 13 years, with an extensive list of extra courses to add to my treatment list, Microdermabrasion, HD Brows, Hollywood Lashes and Hollywood Intimate waxing to name but a few.

My ultimate favourite treatment is Shellac… Especially with lots of nail art and glitter!

I am also a fully qualified Beauty Trainer, and have worked in both collages and Training Centres teaching lots of future Beauty Therapists.

I am very passionate about my job, and will always deliver a treatment to the best of my ability.

Will Amended

Will Bonfield…

Hi, my name is Will, and I am the new boy (literally!) here at Quintessence. Previously, I have worked in hospitality for 17 years, both front and back of house, and have been fortunate enough to work all over the world, in lots of different places, all the way up to Michelin star level.
Working so hard, means playing  hard, so I compete in several sports, including representing Yorkshire at Slalom Skiing, and more recently triathlon and Cycle racing. My desire to improve, along with related injuries has always driven me to be incredibly interested in the human form, the muscles, how they work, and how to fix them.

Having made the decision to change career, I have completed my initial qualifications in Swedish and relaxing massage, with more intensive sports courses coming soon. However, having started retraining, I have become very interested in all aspects of massage, so will be adding Hot Stones and Indian Head to my repertoire in the near future.

I love working with all the girls here at Quintessence, and am looking forward to growing and developing both my skills and adding more services to our business.
